황치석(BON K: 서울여자대학교 초빙교수, 한국궁중문화예술원 원장)은 세계기록유산 중 정수인 한성부에서 발간한 조선왕조 의궤 반차도를 새롭게 그리는 궁중기록 화가이다. 프랑스와 일본으로부터 빼앗긴 아름다운 의궤 귀환을 기도하면서 반차도를 그리기 시작하여 국가의 중요행사인 오례(길례, 가례, 군례, 흉례, 빈례) 반차도를 체계적으로 그려 국내외에 알리는 역할을 해왔다.
1961년 진주에서 태어나 부산에서 초중고 학교를 다녔다. 연세대학교에서 교육학 석사, 세종대학교에서 교육학 박사 학위를 취득하였다. 홍익대학교 미술평생교육원에서 10년간 파인 송규태 선생님으로부터 궁중화의 기법을 배웠다. 2005년 조선왕조 친잠의궤를 재현하는 궁중행사에 참여한 후 의궤 연구와 의궤 속의 반차도 재현에 20여년간 혼신의 노력을 기울여왔다. 637종의 방대한 의궤 중에서 역사적 예술적 가치가 있는 반차도와 도설을 발굴하여 전통 한지 위에 먹으로 밑그림을 다시 그리고 과학적으로 분석한 전통안료를 사용하여 채색하고 두루마리로 제작하였다.
그녀의 주요 업적은 박물관에서 책으로 단편적으로 볼 수밖에 없는 국가의 주요 행사 장면을 한눈에 볼 수 있도록 현대적으로 재창조한 것이다. 황박사는 지난 30년간 궁중기록화 30여점 외 궁중화, 민화, 창작 등 150여점을 그려왔다. 그녀는 뉴욕한국문화원 갤러리, 대한민국 국회 아트갤러리, 국립한글박물관 갤러리, 겸재정선미술관, 서울시 운현궁 갤러리, 허준박물관, 왕조실록의궤박물관, Waldorf West Library Gallery MD, USA 등 13회 초대개인전과 국내외 단체전 50여회 이상 민화, 궁중화, 기록화 전시를 하였다. 해외 단체전으로는 Fondazione Luciana Matalon, Milano, Italy(2018), Athens National Gallery, Athens, Greece(2014), Park view Gallery, L.A. USA(2013), National Ueno Park Gallery, Tokyo, Japan(2013), 국립무강현 연화박물관 중국(2008), 오아이오주 한인회 미국(2002), 자나바즈라 국립박물관, 몽고(2000) 등에서 전시하였다.
세계기록유산의 정수 의궤 반차도 전시를 통해 박물관에서도 펼쳐 볼 수 없는 것을 세계인이 향유할 수 있는 기회를 제공하고 한국인의 우수한 기록문화를 널리 알리고자 함.
Hwang Cheeseok (BON K: KACAF USA Subcommittee Chairperson of Royal Cultural Arts). Dr. Hwang is Invited Professor at Seoul Women's University, Director of the Korea Royal Court Culture and Arts Center. She is a court record painter who newly draws the Joseon Dynasty Uigwe banchado published by Hanseongbu, which is the essence of World Record Heritage (The Memory of the World, MOW) He began drawing Banchado while praying for the return of the beautiful Uigwe that had been taken away from France and Japan. She systematically drew banchado of five rites (Gilrye, Garye, Gunrye, Hungrye, and Binrye), which are important national events, and made them known domestically and internationally.
Born in Jinju Korea in 1961, he attended elementary, middle and high school in Busan. He received a master's degree in education from Yonsei University and a doctorate in education from Sejong University. At Hongik University Art Lifelong Education Institutes, he learned the technique of royal painting from Gyu-tae Song, a fine teacher for 10 years.
After participating in a royal event to reproduce the Uigwe of the Joseon Dynasty in 2005, he has devoted his entire effort to researching Uigwe and reproducing Banchado in Uigwe for 20 years. Banchado and Doseol, which have historical and artistic value, were excavated among 637 types of uigwe, and the sketch was redrawn with ink on traditional Korean paper, colored using traditional pigments analyzed scientifically, and made into scrolls. Her main achievement is to be a documentary Painter who reinterprets the scenes of major national events at a glance, which can only be seen in fragments in books at museums. She has drawn about 150 Art Works, including 30 court records Painting, court paintings, folk paintings, and creations.
Dr. Hwang invited 13 times solo exhibitions, at the Gallery of the Korean Cultural Center in New York, the Gallery of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea, the National Hangeul Museum Gallery, Gyeomjae Jeongseon Art Museum, and Heo Jun Museum, Waldorf West Library Gallery MD, USA. She has exhibited folk paintings, royal paintings, and documentary paintings in more than 50 domestic and international group exhibitions.
